Councilman Anthony Will Run For LV Mayor

Las Vegas City Councilman Stavros Anthony announced today that he will run against Mayor Carolyn Goodman.

The two have butted heads over the use of more than $56 million in city money and land to build a privately owned soccer stadium downtown. Anthony has opposed using taxpayer dollars, while Goodman has been enthusiastic about doing so.

Candidate filing opens January 27. The primary is April 7, with the top two vote-getters moving on to the June 2 general election.
