A Winchester Model 1873 rifle has been found in Nevada's Great Basin National Park, with no clues as to who left it there.
“The cracked wood stock, weathered to grey, and the brown rusted barrel blended into the colors of the old juniper tree in a remote rocky outcrop, keeping the rifle hidden for many years," the park wrote on their Facebook page.
It was apparently manufactured in 1882. The park said it was investigating more about the rifle's history, including Winchester Company records and newspaper reports, but so far, it's come up short. The rifle was found in November.
