Senator Reid Breaks Some Bones In Home Accident

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is recovering after breaking ribs and bones in his face while working out at his home in Henderson.

A statement released by Reid's staff says the Democratic senator was exercising at home on Thursday when a piece of exercise equipment broke and caused him to fall.

Officials say his security detail brought him to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, and he was then transferred to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Staffers say he was admitted overnight as a precaution.

The statement says the senator plans to return to Washington over the weekend and be in his office Tuesday as the Senate prepares to begin work again.
