UNLV officially announced the hiring of Bishop Gorman High School football coach Tony Sanchez to head its ailing football program.
The university made the announcement Wednesday after days of speculation about the hire.
The Nevada Board of Regents still have to approve the high school coach to replace Bobby Hauck. Hauck resigned on Nov. 30 after a 49 -27 loss to the University of Nevada, Reno in the Battle of the Fremont Cannon.
