Police say a transit agency security guard who shot and killed a man at a Las Vegas Strip bus stop near the Paris casino early Monday morning did so in self-defense.
Las Vegas Police issued a statement Thursday that the man, 35-year-old Christopher Boudinot, started the shootout shortly before 2 a.m. based on witness statements and surveillance footage from a distant aerial view.
Police say the Boudinot had an invalid bus pass and the security guard asked him to get off the bus.
Police say the two remained at the bus stop before Boudinot walked away continuing to yell at the guard. About 13 minutes later, Police say Boudinot approached the guard again and shot him six times. The guard shot Boudinot twice, killing him.
The guard survived.
