UNLV Football Coach Bobby Hauck Resigns

UNLV football coach Bobby Hauck will step down after the team's season finale against UNR on Saturday.  Athletic director Tina Kunzer-Murphy announced Friday that Hauck had submitted his resignation, effective Monday. "He and his staff have worked tirelessly in trying to achieve the results we all want to see but it unfortunately has not happened," Kunzer-Murphy said.

The Rebels are 2-10 this season and 15-48 in five seasons under Hauck, including 11-27 in the Mountain West Conference. UNLV had three straight two-win seasons under Hauck before he led the Rebels to their first bowl appearance since 2000 last year, finishing 7-6 after losing that bowl game. Before being hired by UNLV after the 2009 season, Hauck was 80-17 at Montana in the FCS from 2003-09.

Hauck had two years left on his contract and will receive a buyout of $400,000.
