'More Cops' Tax Tabled By Clark County Commission

Clark County commissioners today tabled discussions about the controversial “More Cops” sales tax initiative to fund more Metro Police officers.  The .15 percent tax hike had been introduced by Commissioner Tom Collins, who didn’t show up at today’s meeting because he was at a conference in Ely.

The initiative has been put up to a vote four times in recent months with commissioners rejecting it each time.  The board says they will examine budget needs for the police department and the Clark County Detention Center and consult with Sheriff-elect Joe Lombardo.
