Democratic State Sen. Justin Jones represents a competitive district that has been targeted by Republican leaders.
His seat is one of three that Republicans are focusing on in an attempt to take over the state senate. And Jones could be vulnerable. In the last legislative session, he sponsored a bill to require background checks for private firearm sales, which didn't pass. Gun rights groups have targeted Jones since the 2013 session.
The senator has also strayed from the Democratic party line, most notably by not supporting a bill that would have required all schools in Nevada to teach comprehensive sexual education.
Can Jones hang on to his seat in a year that favors Republicans? And will Democrats support a moderate candidate in this election year?
