Jury selection began Tuesday for a civil trial pitting MGM Resorts International against general contractor Tutor Perini Corp. over flaws in the Harmon Hotel tower at CityCenter. The trial in Clark County District Court is expected to last a year. Meanwhile, the never-used tower is being dismantled. Inspectors found in 2008 that steel used on the first 26 stories wouldn't support another planned 22 floors. Later, the tower was declared an earthquake hazard. The rest of the multi-hotel CityCenter complex opened in 2009.
