Nevada Ballet Theater and the Pacific Northwest Ballet will bring the magic of midsummer to the earliest days of autumn with this weekend's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Seasons. Both productions have sprawling casts, and both will also feature a live orchestra.
The ballet often uses recorded music, but this performance is different. The dancers will perform alongside the Las Vegas Philharmonic. The arrangement allows performers and musicians to play off one another in ways that just aren't possible with canned music. The conductor and choreographers talk about the music, and what it brings to a performance of dance.
