CCSD Looks At Sex Ed

Dozens of parents stormed a school board meeting on Monday to express concerns about possible changes to the sex ed curriculum in the county.

Clark County School District officials say they are not proposing changes to sex ed. but they have been quietly gathering feedback on a new curriculum in case it comes up in the legislature.

A bill to require comprehensive sex ed lost narrowly in 2013. And so district officials say they are gathering information to present at the legislation if need be. Parents are concerned that a new curriculum could expose children to material that is not age appropriate.

See national guidelines for sex ed here.
