Bus Driver Goes Into Labor After Crash

A pregnant school bus driver went into labor after hitting a truck on the Northern 215 Beltway, Nevada Highway Patrol said Wednesday. The accident happened about 6:45 a.m. on the 215 Beltway near Lamb Boulevard.

Fifty high school students were on board the bus, according to the NHP. Trooper Loy Hixson said the driver, who was nine months pregnant, side-swiped a flatbed semi-tractor trailer truck and the collision caused her to go into labor. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, as were two students with minor injuries. Some of the students were picked up by another school bus and others by their parents.
