Is There A Right Way To Discipline A Child?

Corporal punishment is wrong, suggest behavioral psychologists -- some family therapists say any kind of punishment is a bad idea.

Therapist Cheryl Erwin says that positive reinforcement is the best way to shape behavior. But this raises number of other questions: How do you reward behavior without spoiling your child? Rewards won’t eliminate misbehavior and parents do need to respond to it, but how? What are the different discipline strategies and what works best?
