Northern Nevada Inmate Escapes, Briefly

An inmate is back behind bars after spending just minutes as an escapee of a northern Nevada prison.  The Nevada Department of Corrections says 41-year-old Brian Kakowski was captured a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday less than a mile from the Warm Springs Correctional Center. Officials say Kakowski was spotted outside the prison fence about 10 minutes earlier, with officers immediately dispatched to catch him.

Kakowski has been imprisoned since June, serving a sentence of 13 to 60 months for failing to stop for an officer.
