Lightning Ignites Wildfires In California

Lightning sparked nine new wildfires in the northeastern corner of California yesterday as firefighters work to contain a stubborn 12-square-mile blaze to the west.  CalFire says more than 2,000 firefighters and a dozen helicopters are battling a lightning-sparked blaze near Laytonville in Mendocino County. Nearly 60 structures are threatened.
