Joey Chestnut, the hot dog eating world-record holder, has extended his stranglehold on the eating championship at Nevada's Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off as well. Chestnut claimed his fifth consecutive title in Sparks on Wednesday, downing 9 pounds and 2.7 ounces of ribs in 12 minutes.
The 30-year-old has won eight of the last nine rib championships, setting the world record last year with 13 lbs., 7.6 ounces. Chestnut bought 30 lbs. of the St. Louis-style ribs earlier in the week as part of his training.
