Nevada business leaders want the Legislature to consider holding a special session early next year to put together an incentive package to lure Tesla Motors' $5 billion battery factory to the state. Nevada Manufacturers Association leader Ray Bacon told the Reno Gazette-Journal a special session is the only way to legislate a package that could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Senate Minority Leader Pat Hickey say Nevada already seems to be a strong candidate without sweetening the pot. Tesla officials confirmed they have a graded dirt pad in place east of Sparks, but say they will also break ground in other states.
