A former Nevada lawmaker who spent 16 months in jail for fighting with California police after a high-speed freeway chase is now facing charges from an earlier arrest. Steven Brooks is in custody after pleading no contest in March to evading a peace officer and resisting arrest. The 42-year-old Democrat from North Las Vegas is due today before a Las Vegas judge on felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from his February 2013 arrest in Nevada. He's accused of trying to grab a police officer's gun during a domestic dispute call.
