The Washoe County school board has postponed a discussion of its dismissal of Superintendent Pedro Martinez, after Martinez filed a lawsuit alleging breach of contract and also asked a judge to block the panel from discussing the matter in violation of open-meeting laws.
The school district announced last Tuesday that Martinez had been "relieved of his duties," then said a day later he had been placed on paid administrative leave. The Nevada Attorney General's office has confirmed it is investigating the dismissal, but they declined further comment.
