Reid Announces Program That Will Cut Wait Times At McCarran

Visitors coming to Las Vegas from overseas could find shorter customs lines. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Thursday that McCarran International Airport will participate in a pilot program that offers more flexibility in scheduling customs agents. The public-private partnership will allow the airport to schedule agents for later hours and move them around to terminals where they're needed most, as long as the airport foots the bill for the overtime.

Existing rules are more restrictive when it comes to changing schedules and locations. Las Vegas has been trying to attract more foreign tourists, who tend to stay longer and spend more money than domestic ones.
