Miss USA Tours Nevada Capital

The woman who won Miss Nevada USA and then Miss USA 2014 paid a visit to the state capital – which she struggled to name shortly after winning the crown.

Twenty-four-year-old Nia Sanchez took a tour of the capitol building in Carson City on Wednesday.  Sanchez said she moved to Las Vegas in late 2012 and in June became the first Miss Nevada to win Miss USA.

She was criticized after a radio show host asked her to name the capital of Nevada and she drew a blank. Sanchez is on an official Nevada homecoming tour this week.
