Nellis Air Force Base is getting a new commander. Thursday, base authorities announced current base commander Colonel Barry Cornish is leaving his post for a new assignment at Hickam Air Force Base on Hawaii. Col. Cornish will leave at the end of the month. His replacement is likely to be named next week.
Cornish has been stationed at Nellis since 2010. He took command in 2012.
