Clark County Takes Next Steps For Medical Marijuana

Clark County commissioners will tackle the next big question about medical marijuana: who can grow it. The commission is hosting a public hearing today to go over 64 applications from businesses wanting to grow the drug. According to the county's zoning regulations, cultivation facilities must be located in warehouses in industrial zones. These facilities must be at least 660 feet from residential neighborhoods and plants can't be grown outdoors. There is no cap on how many cultivation sites are allowed.

Commissioners will also consider 42 applications to run production facilities and six applications to operate quality control testing labs.
