Las Vegas is one of the strongest cities for job growth so far in 2014. Southern Nevada experienced a 1.4 percent increase in jobs in the first quarter. That makes this one of the strongest regions in the country for job growth according to Brookings Mountain West.
Even with the growth the number of jobs in Las Vegas remains six percentage points below its pre-recession peak. And unemployment remains the highest in the nation.
