Pupfish Coming Back Strong

There's good news for an endangered species in Nevada. The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that the population of the dime-sized Devil's-Hole pupfish has tripled since 2013.

Last year, the tiny fish was close to extinction. There were 35 remaining. But researchers have tried to keep the species alive by breeding new ones in a 100,000 gallon tank filled with the same water pumped in the Devil's-Hole aquifer.

The pupfish has been under federal protection since 1967 and can only be found in this one aquifer in Nevada.
