North Las Vegas firefighters have accepted the deal to give up millions in back pay. Thursday, members of the International Association of Firefighters Local 1607 approved the dealto give up their portion of $10.4 million in back pay.
This makes them the first of four employee bargaining units to approve the agreement created by the North Las Vegas city council back in April. The other three unions include police, police supervisors and office workers. The city is currently facing an $18 million budget deficit for the fiscal year starting July.
