Comedy legend David Brenner died Saturday at age 78. Long before comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s brand of observational humor famously evolved into a ‘show about nothing’ Brenner pioneered comedy mined from the hilarity in the everyday. His relatively clean brand of humor contrasted with that of some of his peers, including Richard Pryor. In a 2009 State of Nevada, Brenner talked about the key to successfully making comedy out of everyday life.
