North Las Vegas Makes Peace With Public Safety Union

North Las Vegas unilaterally broke union contracts with its civil service employees when the city was nearly broke. The unions decided to take their fight to court and recently won - the court ruled that the city could not tear up the three-year contracts with unions. But now North Las Vegas does not have the money to pay all the contracts. Some of the unions are saying they would be willing to settle, but some are skeptical that the city is doing all it can to finalize payment to police and firefighters. We look at the results from a meeting between the two sides scheduled for Tuesday night.
