Nevada State College Launches "Gateway To Completion"

College students must take introductory core courses before they can move forward into their field of study. Nationwide, the percentage of students passing those courses ranges between 60 and 70 percent. That means only 60 to 70 percent make it beyond freshman year in college.

Nevada State College is taking a step to try and change that. It’s taking part in a three-year pilot program called Gateway to Completion run by the Gardner Institute. So what will the program do and how will it help with making sure more people get through college?
