The protracted fight over the government shutdown and the debt ceiling ended with a victory for Democrats. And Sen. Harry Reid has been credited as the architect of that winning strategy. But the victory could be short-lived. Even if House Republicans do not resort to the same defunding strategies, there is still a massive gap between the plans of both parties. What can be done to resolve those differences? Or are we left waiting yet again for an election to resolve these differences?
