Nevada Still Mulling Marijuana Regs

Nevada's forthcoming medical marijuana retail industry is drawing interest from lobbyists and law firms who may prepare applications for would-be dispensary owners.

State Sen. Richard "Tick" Segerblom (Democrat, District 3 in Las Vegas) spearheaded the law to create a system of state-regulated dispensaries here, and will discuss the regulations being drafted by state officials to select applicants, monitor stores and collect taxes.

The regulations were scrutinized at an October hearing, and will be reviewed again at a December hearing. The deadline for finalizing the regs is the end of March. On April 1 the state will start accepting applications to open a store.
