Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs

Neil Simon has turned his talent for writing sit-coms into a string of plays and movies. And, of course, the long-running TV series “The Odd Couple” began as a play. In the 1980s, he turned to autobiography for material.

The first in that series of plays was “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” It tells the story of a working class Jewish family in Brooklyn in the 1930s.

The Nevada Conservatory Theater is presenting Brighton Beach Memoirs tonight with performances through the weekend.
