No More 'Smut Racks' On The Strip?

Handbills advertising adult entertainment will no longer be available from news racks on the Las Vegas Strip, if the Clark County Commission bans news racks entirely from the resort corridor.

Commissioner Steve Sisolak, whose District A includes the southern portion of the Strip, said he supports a proposal to ban the racks as of Jan. 1.

Sisolak, who chairs the commission, rejects the idea that such a ban would violate the First Amendment rights of businesses that use racks on the Strip.  The proposed ordinance is intended only to relieve sidewalk congestion on the Strip, according to Sisolak.
