Norm Schilling enjoys fall weather with some low impact/high return chores. Pruning for aesthetics and mulching for rich soil quality are on his to-do list before he gets started in earnest on fall planting.

Community mulch is still available from the UNCE Orchard on Horse Drive. The UNCE Orchard is located 100 yards east of the intersection of North Decatur and Horse Drive in North Las Vegas. This is just south of Shadow Creek High School. The public can come pick up mulch free of charge any Tuesday or Saturday mornings. People can call the Horticulture Help Line at UNCE at 702-257-5555 if they need better directions.
