Las Vegas: A One-Newspaper Town?

Las Vegas may be joining Denver and Seattle, cities whose local news industry has recently dwindled from two daily newspapers to one.

Or, will Brian Greenspun's effort to save the Las Vegas Sunwork?

He has filed a suit in federal court alleging that the Las Vegas Review-Journal cannot pay off its competitor, the Sun, to cease publication.

But  three other Greenspun siblings, who are also directors of Greenspun Media, have okayed the deal from Stephens Media -- owner of the Review-Journal -- which would dissolve the joint-operating agreement by which the two newspapers have functioned since 1989. Brian Greenspun claims the dissolution would violate anti-trust law.
