Should Preaching And Politics Mix?

An email is now circulating to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints asking them to fast and pray this Sunday for a good debate performance from Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney. The effort is not endorsed by the politically-neutral church but it does raise questions about how political churches can be under the law? Or how political and partisan the should be? They're allowed to discuss issues but not endorse candidates but that's very fuzzy line and the IRS, which enforces the law, rarely if ever investigates, let alone take away a church's tax exempt status.
