Tips From the Fix-It Show

It’s too late to call in to our latest fix-it show with a question, but you can listen to the audio, or check out handy tips below.

For your pool:

  1. Regularly skim leaves and debris. This saves wear and tear on the filter.
  2. Clean the lint baskets.
  3. Add adequate chlorine, and chemicals for ph, hardness, and alkalinity.
  4. Keep the water circulating and appropriately treated.

For your air conditioning:

  1. If there’s something wrong with your air conditioner, there’s a 50/50 chance it’s your condenser fan motor.
  2. Number one reason for an AC mishap? Failure to regularly change the filters.
  3. To save money on AC use – keep the temp as high as you can stand it – this is costs less than turning off the air conditioning when you’re not home.
  4. If you have an outdoor AC unit, clean off the condenser coil with a garden hose in the spring time.
  5. Wall units can be as effective as central air, and generally are more efficient to operate.
