Cancer has always been a part of Clarissa Martins' life. When she was nine, her mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told she had only a short time to live. But then a doctor suggested a groundbreaking treatment - a treatment which influenced Clarissa's own interest in cancer research. The UNR senior recently won the 2012 Thomas J. Bardos Award for her research. We talk to Clarissa about her national award, and what's next on the frontier of cancer research.
