The Tule Springs Fossil Bed

The Tule Springs Coalition has been pushing for National Monument status for a collection of Ice Age fossils at a 30,000-acre site along the Upper Las Vegas Wash. The fossile beds were laid down beginning 250,000 years ago. The most recent are 7,000 years old. But what exactly is at Tule Springs? How were the fossil beds formed? And can they be preserved and become a tourist attraction at the same time?
