Bargaining with the Devil

So when is it smart to talk with the enemy? Much more than you'd think, argues Robert Mnookin, in his new book Bargaining with the Devil: When to Negotiate, When to Fight. The Harvard Law School Professor has spent his career mediating, arbitrating and negotiating settlements as well as teaching other lawyers how to do it. In this new book, he looks at some of the toughest cases - negotiating with the Nazis, dealing with the KGB and trying to agree with your ex-spouse about money and custody of the children. He is speaking tomorrow at the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the UNLV Boyd School of Law.
