Treatment for the Dangerous and the Delusional

The weekend shootings in Tucson highlight the problems of community mental health services. Many people in Tucson and elsewhere are wondering how so delusional a person as Jared Loughner was left free to walk the streets, let alone buy a high-powered automatic pistol without any questions being asked. A Tucson psychiatrist joins us to talk about the depleted state of mental health services in Southern Arizona. Then we turn to a panel of experts who see some of the same problems in Southern Nevada.

GUESTS
Dr. Kevin Kreisler, psychiatrist, Tucson, Arizona
Ron Bloecker, VP, National Alliance of Mental Illness of Southern Nevada
Michael Howie, Exec Dir, Mojave Adult, Children and Family Services
Allen Lichtenstein, General Counsel, American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada
