State Legislature -- Republican Leaders

The big task now is to balance the state budget when the legislature convenes next year.

Some Republican leaders were prepared to think about tax increases but Governor-elect Brian Sandoval says "No." He insists the budget can be balanced by returning to the spending levels of 2007 - the budget that was passed four years ago. And Republicans in the Assembly are now back in the game.

In 2009, they had only one third of the members, so Democrats in the lower house could override any veto. But with two new Republicans elected last week, Assembly Republicans will have a significant role.

We look at the outlook for the legislature next year with the two minority's leaders.
