Project SALUTE: Helping Veterans Get Benefits

Veterans face plenty of issues when they return from war, and getting benefits is one of them. The Detroit Mercy Law School decided to start a clinic to help low-income veterans. Then, the team took the idea nationwide. Project SALUTE comes to Las Vegas this week for the Veterans Stand Down event. The project's director, Tammy Kudialis, joins us to talk about counseling veterans with PTSD and other injuries, cutting through red tape, and what it's like to have a grown man cry on her shoulder.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law's (UDM Law) Project SALUTE is taking its free legal clinic nationwide. They'll be assisting low-income veterans on Thursday (March 25) and Friday (March 26) at Redeemer Lutheran Church on North Pecos Road from 10-4.
