The Smithsonian Institution is planning to open the National Museum of African-American History and Culture in 2015. The still-to-be built museum already has a director who is lecturing at UNLV on Monday night. We meet him and discuss the planning for a museum and what goes into gathering the materials to tell the story of a group that has historically not figured much in the telling of the American story.
