Every year, the Nevada AmeriCorps program employees 200 people, who serve at 52 nonprofits and organizations around the state. The volunteers provide services such as outreach to the homeless, after-school programs and preserve wilderness areas. But the program's funding is in danger. We talk with the program's CEO, Shawn Lecker-Pomaville, as well as an alumni of the program, Joe Huerta, and also Sarah Valentine, Volunteer Services Assistant with the Friends of Red Rock Canyon.
