A heatwave is building and expected to come crashing down on Las Vegas next week with potentially record-breaking temperatures.
The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures steadily rising over the next several days, going from an expected high of 89 Thursday to 114 by next Wednesday.
An increase in moisture could also mean an early arrival of the monsoon season, with clouds and possibly showers coming into the valley next week.
