CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's governor is convening a panel to strengthen oversight to ensure coronavirus vaccines are being distributed in an equitable manner in the state.
Democrat Steve Sisolak said Friday that a new Equity and Fairness Initiative would help determine vaccination sites and plans to ensure vaccines are provided across all communities and get to working class families, low-income households and people of color disproportionately affected by the pandemic in Nevada.
In a video announcing the initiative, Sisolak accused unnamed southern Nevada officials of violating the state's vaccine playbook and allowing non-eligible residents to skip the line to be vaccinated early.
