LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada is reporting its first known case of a more contagious variant of COVID-19.
The Nevada State Public Health Laboratory announced Monday the first known case in the state of the strain that first emerged in the United Kingdom last fall.
It has been reported in several states in the U.S. but federal officials says there's no conclusive evidence that the variant is more severe than other strains of the virus.

Nevada officials say the variant was found in a symptomatic woman in her 30s in Las Vegas. She reported no travel history and has had limited contact with people outside her household.
