CARSON CITY Nev. (AP) — Health officials in Nevada on Sunday reported 1,194 new COVID-19 cases and 15 more deaths.

The latest figures increased state's pandemic totals to 270,907 cases and 4,026 known deaths.

Clark County had 907 of the new cases and five of the 15 deaths, according to statistics from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.

The state's largest county now has accounted for 208,147 cases and 3,066 deaths since the pandemic began.

The number of infections statewide is thought to be far higher than reported because many people have not been tested, while studies suggest people can be infected with the virus without feeling sick.

The virus has hammered Nevada's tourist-dependent economy.
