Health Officials Blame Short Supply For Slow Vaccine Rollout

Clark County and the Southern Nevada Health District said a limited supply is hampering efforts to vaccinate people in Southern Nevada.

The county and the health district said as of Wednesday morning more than 107,000 COVID-19 vaccinations had been administered.

Currently, the health district is receiving 22,000 to 25,000 doses per week, hurting efforts to administer as many as 100,000 vaccines per week.

Cashman Center is giving out about 1,000 vaccines a day because of the limited supply.

Dr. Fermin Leguen, the acting chief health officer, says that at the current rate of distribution it would take several weeks to get through the current eligible group, which includes people 70 and older and they number nearly 200,000 people.
